Daddy's Home!
Daddy came home from the hospital today. It’s been weird not having him here for the last couple of days, but Grandma and Grandpa have been here to help Mommy. Uncle Jeff came to visit yesterday, and he’s staying a few days, too!
Mommy says that Daddy won’t be very alert for the next few days. His surgery went well, but he’s still in a lot of pain and is taking some serious medication, so he’ll be sleeping a lot. Yahoo, more naps with Daddy!!!
Sorry, no pictures though.

First Christmas
Today was my first Christmas. We were at Mau’s house for the holiday this year. Unfortunately, it wasn’t exactly the holiday that we were expecting. We were leaving the house to go to church last night when Daddy slipped on some ice and fell. He broke his leg in three places, and needs to have surgery to put in a plate and some pins. At least they let him come home for Christmas Day! Here’s a picture of me giving him a hug when he got home late last night (well, very early this morning actually).

In all the crazy excitement of the day, with Daddy being all drugged out and Mommy trying to take care of us both, we didn’t take any pictures. I think Aunt Brenda has some on her camera, though, so I might have some pictures to post later.

Visitors
I had quite a few visitors come to see me these couple days.
Mommy’s parents live in Toronto, so they were close by and rushed in to see me as soon as they heard that I was born. I suspect that they were driving around close to the hospital waiting for Mommy and Daddy to call and tell them I had arrived. They tell me that I should call them Mau (rhymes with “go”) and Papa John. Here’s a picture of the three of us.

Daddy’s parents live out of town, but they were coming to Toronto this weekend anyways, so they came over to see me as soon as they got into town. They tell me I should call them Grandma and Grandpa. Here are some pictures of me with them (and I snuck in one of Mommy as well).

Daddy’s sister came along with Grandma and Grandpa. She tells me I should call her Auntie Hope, and that she’s going to spoil me rotten.

Mommy’s oldest brother (Uncle Marcus) and his family (Aunt Brenda, and my cousins Lauren and Alex) came by as well. Here are some pictures of me with Aunt Brenda and Lauren. Uncle Marcus and Alex were camera-shy (unlike me)!

Hello World!
Weighing in at 8 pounds, 15.9 ounces, I arrived into the world at 10:25 this morning. My name is Margaret Eleanor Victoria Evans, which my parents have shortened to Maggie or sometimes Maggie Lee. I am named for my Mommy's grandmothers (Margaret on her mother's side and Victoria on her father's side, and Eleanor comes from my surrogate great-grandmother, Auntie Lee).
With a little help from Mommy and Daddy, I will be keeping this blog updated with pictures and notes as I grow up.
Here are a couple pictures of my first few hours that Daddy and Mommy took. Mommy won’t let me post any pictures of her in the hospital, because she thinks she looks awful.

A little later, I had a nap with Daddy.

Here’s a shot of me sleeping after the nurses showed Mommy and Daddy how to give me a bath.

Today was an extremely eventful (not to mention somewhat uncomfortable) day for me, so I’m going to go to bed now. More tomorrow!
